Critical care is an important part of healthcare system in the developed world.

Rapidly aging populations across the world became speed-breaker for the much-needed critical care during the emergencies.

The exact number of ICU beds in India is also not available, since the registration of ICUs and hospitals is not a centralized process.

Moreover, in India, there is one government allopathic doctor for every 10,189 people.

However, there are 462 medical colleges that teach 56,748 doctors and 3,123 institutions that prepare 1,25,764 nurses each year, but with India’s population increasing annually by 26 million, the numbers are too little.

As per the above study, it clearly indicates that India has a huge market to serve humanity.

For that reason, many organizations like Episirus Scientifica has come up to promoting the research advancement, and always highlighting the opportunity, through conducting several valuable scientific and medical conferences/events/congress/meets/summits/workshops, critical care conferences etc worldwide. Social media is also playing an important role in Indian Healthcare. Key drivers and restraints that have had a major impact upon the Indian market

Critical nursing is a brutally difficult job. It’s exhausting physically, emotionally and spiritually.

The first intensive care units were established in the late 1950s. Each year, about 5 million patients are admitted to intensive care units in India.

The growth of the field of critical care medicine in India is a beautiful story of how economic changes in a country can lead to the evolution of a scientific subspecialty. Major medical societies, such as the Indian Society of Critical Care Medicine (ISCCM), the Society of Critical Care Nurses (CCNS) and the Indian Society of Neuroanaesthesiology and Critical Care (ISNACC) are doing their part for critical care medicine by spreading awareness in India.

Future Scenario of Critical Care in India_critical care conference_episirus scientifica

And the Episirus Scientifica, are the key to unlocking the future of critical care in India and worldwide.

In this blog, we will go back to our origins before thinking briefly about the future perspectives of critical care medicine.

Critical Care Society in India

The transformation of the development of critical care occurred in the early 1990s. A group of Indian doctors / professionals gathered for training in western counties founded the Indian Society of Critical Care Medicine (ISCCM) in 1993. They began to discuss and exchange the knowledge of one another.

They had about 7,000 members and covered 80 Indian cities until the end of 2014.

Training

Medical education in India must be transformed to make sense for our own people. For this, the health program should be important in governance. In the 1990s, universities and official licensing agencies were unconvinced of the need for a strong training program in this new specialty. Several key figures and events are generally associated with the origin of critical care medicine and the development of intensive care units. India’s main task is to develop a national medical program that meets the needs of the country. ISCCM has been instructed to start this training program. Initially, a certificate course was started. The growth in the number of nominated and registered candidates has been massive. And to fulfil the need of the potential applicant many more organizations come us to organize scientific medical conferences and courses to spread the knowledge to most of the physicians. The contribution of the ISCCM and other professional organizations is important in this regard. Medical education in India should be designed to take into account not only current medical education, but also medical knowledge of the past.

Specialist congress with International Experts

The annual national and international congresses like 2019 Pulmonary, Thoracic and Critical Care Conference (2019PTCC), contributed a lot to make a strong pool in the growth of critical care in India and worldwide. At a time when very few Indian specialists could attend international meetings such as ISICEM, ESICM or SCCM, the 2019PTCC international conference planned this year in India, where the presence of these specialists from around the world will do wonders to raise the level Scientific standards and act as appropriate models for the average ICU physician and doctor in India.

With a view to promoting the research advancement in the field of critical care, Episirus Scientifica is committed to bringing together leading experts of medical professionals, researchers, engineers, and scientists.

The 2019PTCC International Congress will be held at the Singapore, from September 10 to 11, 2019. The conference is aimed at the international community of Critical Care Medicine, as well as other health professionals involved in the field multidisciplinary surgical intensive care challenges.

Critical Care Research

For any specialty in medicine, research is key to understanding the epidemiology and pathophysiology of disease processes. Early ICUs were somewhat isolated, slightly mysterious, and rather frightened, due to which Original research in critical care in India has been limited. Traditionally, Indian medical students have not been taught research methodology during medical school. The focus during training was always been on clinical medicine and patient care rather than on research and development.

Conclusion

The increasingly important role of the Indian critical care community is being recognized around the world. India is the second-largest country in the world with a relatively low average age and a very different demographic trend from developed countries. Critical care in the Asia-Pacific region also benefits from a significant contribution from India. Critical care in India has evolved very rapidly and significantly over the last two decades of its existence. Much of the critical care services across the country is provided by family physicians and general internists

“We need technology that doesn’t rely on human factors,”.

This would help in critical care and could be used in disaster settings as well.

The Episirus Scientifica encourages organizations and of all types and sizes to contact and gather knowledge and lend a helping hand in arranging Critical Care Conferences and Events on a large scale.

The Critical Care sector is moving faster in the future than other hospital functions because it needs to do so to keep working.

“We have to learn to work smarter to leverage new technology and the expertise of all other experts in other fields,” says Dr. Buchman of the future of critical care.
