Prof. Vladimir Cerny
Vladimir Cerny is Professor of Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care at Charles University, Prague, Czech Republic. He obtained both his medical degree and PhD at Charles University, where he also completed his residency in the Department of Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care. His current positions include Chairman and Professor of Anaesthesiology, Perioperative Medicine and Intensive Care at J.E. Purkinje University, Masaryk Hospital, Usti nad Labem, Czech Republic, Professor and Senior Researcher at University Hospital Hradec Kralove, Czech Republic, and Adjunct Professor of Anaesthesiology at Dalhousie University, Halifax, Canada.
Prof. Cerny’s clinical interests include airway management in perioperative medicine and critical care, coagulation management. Currently, the main field of his experimental/clinical research is related to microcirculation and glycocalyx. He serves in several professional bodies, both nationally (currently as a President of the Czech Society of Anesthesiology and Intensive Care) and internationally (e.g. member of the European Board of Anesthesiology, ESAIC Guidelines Committee and ESAIC Ethics committee). Prof. Cerny has published numerous papers in peer-reviewed journals and several textbooks at a national level. He has also coauthored all European guidelines on major trauma bleeding since 2007. Recently, he also served as a chairman of scientific committee for the World Congress of Anesthesiology held in Prague, Czech Republic, 2021. During COVID-19 he has served as a deputy of Ministry of Health of the Czech Republic and as a National Coordinator for Intensive Care.

Prof. PhD Quirino Piacevoli
Prof. PhD Quirino Piacevoli (Visiting Professor, University “Campus Bio Medico”, Rome, Italy) is a distinguished figure in the field of anesthesia and intensive care, currently serving as a Visiting Professor at the University “Campus Bio Medico” in Rome, Italy, and the University “St. Cyril and Methodius” in Skopje, Macedonia. Alongside his academic roles, he holds the pivotal position of Head of the Department of Anaesthesia and Intensive Care at San Filippo Neri Hospital in Rome. He is a Senior Consultant of Critical care, Anaesthesiology, & Medicine at Noble Hospital, Pune. He is active member of Indian Society of Anaesthesiologists (ISA), ISCCM, IMA, API, ISSP, AOA, AORA, IAPA, ISPEN, CSI Pune. He was the Secretary of Indian College of Critical Care Medicine ( ICCM) 2014-2016. He participated as a speaker at various National and International Conferences on topics High Risk Anaesthesia, Transplant anaesthesia , Critical Care, ethical and legal issues. He is a reviewer in many medical journals like IJA, IJCCM, SQU Med J Oman.

Dr. Vikas Raghov
Dr Vikas Raghove (Assistant Professor, Clinical Anessthesia, Ball Memorial Hospital, IU university, Indiana, USA) is working as Assistant Professor in clinical Anessthesia at Ball Memorial Hospital, IU university, Indiana. He completed his medical school in 2004 and anesthesia residency in 2007 from India. He practised anesthesiology and managed patients in ICU for about 10 years. He moved to USA in 2018. Did his Anesthesia residency from Columbia university Medical Center, New York and New York Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital affiliated to Cornell university . He has presented papers and gave lectures at judged abstracts and sessions at national and international platforms. Beside this academics, he has keen interest in Instrument designing and has patent for instrument design for central venous access in his name.

Dr. Prateek Koolwal
Dr. Prateek Koolwal (HOD & Senior Consultant , Critical Care Medicine, ManglamPlus Medicity Hospital, India) a medical professional, possesses an impressive educational background, including a post-graduation degree and various certifications in the field of medicine. With an MBBS and MD in Anaesthesia, alongside additional qualifications such as IDCCM, FNB and IFCCM in Critical Care Medicine. He has established a comprehensive foundation in the medical realm. Currently serving as Head of Department (HOD) & Senior Consultant, Critical Care Medicine, ManglamPlus Medicity Hospital, India. His expertise lies in a range of specialized areas. Natasa (Senior Consultant, UHC Sestre Milosrdince, Zagreb) has completed her M.D. and PhD at School of Medicine University of Zagreb, Croatia. She is a Senior Consultant at UHC Sestre milosrdince, Zagreb. She is active member of European Society of Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care (ESAIC) and Secretary of Croatian Society of Anaesthesiology, Reanimathology and Intensive medicine. Natasa was ESAIC Council member for Croatia for past 5 years. She participated as a lecturer at international professional meetings. Dr Kovac participated in writing several types of textbooks and professional literature, with WOS H-index 5. She is a reviewer in the medical journal PLOS ONE, Medicine.

Dr. Urszula Kościuczuk
Urszula Kościuczuk (Department of Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care Medical University of Bialystok, Poland) is a specialist in anesthesiology and intensive care. She has academic title of doctor of medical sciences , 2018, dissertation entitled Effect of general anesthesia with rocuronium on serum tryptase concentration. She is the independent coordinator of neuroanesthesiology and intensive care, University Clinical Hospital in Bialystok. Her professional interests are perioperative safety, interdisciplinary perioperative medicine, use of skeletal muscle relaxants, opioid-free anesthesia, chronic pain therapy, perioperative anaphylaxis.

Dr. Sheelaj Sharma

Dr Sheelaj Sharma is a highly experienced British, Indian-trained anaesthetist with 22 years of experience in his speciality. He undertook his MD in Anaesthesia in India. In the UK he was initially trained in Cambridge and thereafter in the prestigious London and Barts school of Anaesthesia. He was successfully awarded CCT from the Royal college of Anaesthesia, UK in 2015 . He completed his Regional Anaesthesia Pain Medicline fellowship in Chelmsford, UK and thereafter developed great passion in teaching and training. He is founding member of the British Anaesthesia and Pain Academy and started to organise Advanced Ultrasound guided regional anaesthesia conferences and workshops in the UK, UAE, Jordan, Saudi Arabia and India. He is chairing and organising the Pain conference and workshop at the prestigious AAGBI (Association of Anaesthetist of Great Britain and Ireland ) London, since 2016 .
His vision is to expand ultrasound guided regional anaesthesia and acute surgical pain management training nationally and internationally with special emphasis on opiod-free joint surgeries and awake upper limb surgeries to avoid the opiod epidemic crisis and its related risk.
Dr Sheelaj Sharma was a substantive consultant anaesthetist at Basildon and Thurrock University Hospital, Essex, United Kingdom . He was fracture neck of femur lead at Basildon hospital and started the first Regional Anaesthesia fellowship programme and day case awake AV fistula unit in Basildon.
He joined King Abdul Aziz University Hospital as senior consultant anaesthetist in 2019 and was instrumental in teaching and training of anaesthesia trainee residents about ultrasound guided regional anaesthesia .With his relentless collaborative efforts he brought the EDRA (European Diploma Regional Anaesthesia ) part 1 exam to King Abdul Aziz University Hospital in 2019.

Prior to this, she earned her MD in Anaesthesiology in June 2019 from the prestigious PGIMER, Chandigarh, where she ranked 139th in the entrance exam. She completed her MBBS in March 2014 from M N R Medical College, Hyderabad. Her clinical expertise spans a wide range of skills, including Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), peripheral and central venous cannulation, dialysis catheter insertion, PICC line, tunnelled catheters, and ultrasound-guided cannulation, including pediatric procedures. During the pandemic, she served as Head of Medical Services for the Pasig City COVID Referral Center. She is an instructor of Basic Assessment and Support in Intensive Care (BASIC). She currently practices at the St Luke’s Medical Center, Philippines where she is a Cluster Head and a member of the Research Committee of the Department of Anesthesiology.

Dr. Azocar obtained his medical degree from the Universidad Central de Venezuela and after completing a surgical internship at Jackson Memorial Hospital/University of Miami, he completed his Anesthesiology residency at Boston Medical Center/Boston University School of Medicine (BMC/BUSM) and Critical Care Fellowships at Cook County Hospital in Chicago and at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center/Harvard Medical School., Dr. Azocar completed a master’s degree in Healthcare Management at Harvard School of Public Health in 2016.
Dr. Azocar expertise and contributions to the fields of Anesthesiology and Critical Care Medicine have been recognized with prestigious Fellowships by the American College of Critical Care (FCCM) and the American Society of Anesthesiologists (FASA). He was the Chair of the Geriatric Anesthesia Committee at the ASA and president of the Society for Advancement of Geriatric Anesthesiology. Dr. Kaplan is a critical care surgeon at the University of Pennsylvania in the Division of Trauma, Surgical Critical Care and Emergency Surgery and the Section Chief of Surgical Critical Care at PENN’s affiliated VA Medical Center since 2013. Education including a BA (Franklin and Marshall College; Biology; 1984) and an MD (Rutgers Medical School; 1988) was followed by Surgical residency (Medical College of PA, MCP; 1988-1995) and Surgical Critical Care Fellowship (CCF; University of Pittsburgh; 1996-1997). He has directed ICUs and CCFs in three systems (MCP, Yale, PENN). At Yale (2002-2013) he established the first Emergency General Surgery service, as well as Tactical Emergency Medical Services for a regional SWAT team with which he deployed. Dr. Kaplan serves in professional society leadership roles and is the current President of the Society of Critical Care Medicine. He sits on multiple editorial boards (Journal of Trauma and Acute Care Surgery, Critical Care Medicine, Surgical Infections).

Dr. Heatherlee Bailey
Emergency Medicine Intensivist, Durham VA Medical Center, USA
Dr. Bailey is an Emergency Medicine Intensivist. She attended Alfred University and completed medical school at the Rutgers University of Medicine and Dentistry in Newark, New Jersey. Dr Bailey completed her residency in Emergency Medicine at the Medical College of Pennsylvania In Philadelphia and then joined the faculty. After a faculty fellowship in critical care, she served as her department’s Director of Critical Care Education and their Associate Residency Program Director. She is currently Faculty in the Department of Emergency Medicine at the Durham VA Medical Center in North Carolina.
Her career has been rooted in education, trainee development, and mentorship. Her dedication and expertise has also been nationally recognized. She was awarded the Dr. Joseph and Rae Brown award for her SCCM chapter contributions as well as the American Medical Association’s Women’s Mentoring Award in 2008. Given her prominence in the field, Dr. Bailey serves as an Oral Board Examiner for the American Board of Emergency Medicine.
Volunteering remains an important part of Dr. Bailey’s career and her interests in the management of injury and critical illness span the globe. She was an important contributor and an international instructor of the Comprehensive Trauma Life Course for India as part of her work for the International Trauma Anesthesia and Critical Care Society.
Dr. Bailey has been actively involved in the Society of Critical Care Medicine for more than 20 years serving in a wide variety of roles, including as the 48th SCCM President from 2019-2020. Dr. Bailey’s path of volunteerism, mentorship and leadership led her to be the first Emergency Medicine trained President of SCCM.

Prof. Vladimir Cerny

Vladimir Cerny is Professor of Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care at Charles University, Prague, Czech Republic. He obtained both his medical degree and PhD at Charles University, where he also completed his residency in the Department of Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care. His current positions include Chairman and Professor of Anaesthesiology, Perioperative Medicine and Intensive Care at J.E. Purkinje University, Masaryk Hospital, Usti nad Labem, Czech Republic, Professor and Senior Researcher at University Hospital Hradec Kralove, Czech Republic, and Adjunct Professor of Anaesthesiology at Dalhousie University, Halifax, Canada.
Prof. Cerny’s clinical interests include airway management in perioperative medicine and critical care, coagulation management. Currently, the main field of his experimental/clinical research is related to microcirculation and glycocalyx. He serves in several professional bodies, both nationally (currently as a President of the Czech Society of Anesthesiology and Intensive Care) and internationally (e.g. member of the European Board of Anesthesiology, ESAIC Guidelines Committee and ESAIC Ethics committee). Prof. Cerny has published numerous papers in peer-reviewed journals and several textbooks at a national level. He has also coauthored all European guidelines on major trauma bleeding since 2007. Following residency training in anesthesiology, Dr. Rosenblatt completed dual fellowships in neuroanesthesia and neurocritical care at Johns Hopkins. She also completed a research fellowship, earning a Master of Health Science in Clinical Investigation at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. Dr. Rosenblatt’s research interests include cerebral autoregulation monitoring to improve outcomes from sepsis. She is the founding director of the Johns Hopkins Cerebral Autoregulation in Sepsis Research Group, a multi-disciplinary team of intensivists, anesthesiologists, and engineers with shared expertise in white matter disease, cerebrovascular autoregulation, delirium, immunopathology, and multimodality neuromonitoring whose mission is to personalize and improve care of sepsis patients through a better understand of the pathophysiology of brain disease in sepsis-associated encephalopathy.

Dr. Rano Mal Piryani is a professor of Internal & Chest Medicine and Medical Education. He has completed MBBS (1986), MCPS (1991), DTCD (1992), MD in Chest Medicine (2002) from Sindh Pakistan and Fellowship in Medical Education (2013) from PSG FAIMER Institute Coimbatore India. He has been serving as an editorial board member for reputed journals and peer reviewer of more than 15 national and international scientific journals.
